About Grohe

History

Launched in 1911 in Germany as a ferric hardware factory, the company traded under the name Berkenhoff & Paschedag. It was taken over by Friedrich GROHE in 1936, who had previously worked for his father's company Hansgrohe. In South Africa, GROHE forms part of the LIXIL Africa brand portfolio.

Design

At GROHE, design is a about more than just aesthetic trappings. It is a quality feature and stands for the perfect synthesis of form and function. The result is the joy of water you experience every time you use GROHE products – an entirely new water experience.

Technology

GROHE is a technology leader in its field. The GROHE SilkMove® technology, for instance, ensures incomparably smooth and easy operation in all single lever mixers. In a survey by LGA Qualitest GmbH, the Grohtherm 3000, 2000 and 1000 thermostats each took first place among 17 thermostats from European manufacturers.

Quality

At GROHE’s life testing laboratories, products are put through their paces relentlessly, enduring the simulated effects of 20 years’ daily use, running hard water. Everything at GROHE comes with a seal of exceptional quality. Every product component must withstand the toughest endurance tests and pass with flying colours before products leave the factory. GROHE adheres to the most stringent global quality standards.

Responsibility

For GROHE, the conscious, economical use of energy and resources is not just a challenge but an integral part of its technical design excellence. The company’s inventive spirit is channelled into masterminding sustainable systems. For example, GROHE EcoJoy™ technology has long been a core component of a variety of fittings and showers, helping save up to 68 percent of water compared to conventional products. All GROHE Moments of Truth technology had been developed with you and your enjoyment in mind.
